Core Aeration in Sugar Land, TX

The clay lid

Local clay packs down into a hard lid. It keeps air and water from getting down to the roots.

Roots can't breathe

When roots can't get air or water, the grass stays weak and shallow. Opening the ground lets them grow deep.

Water runs off

Packed clay sheds water instead of soaking it in. Opening it up lets more reach the roots.

According to UMass Amherst's Center for Agriculture, Food, and the Environment, low infiltration in compacted soil causes water to pool and run off, leaving less for the root zone.

We aerate

A commercial-grade aerator pulls small plugs out of your lawn. We rake them afterward so they break down.

Add compost (optional)

We spread compost right after aeration so it settles into the holes. It's priced separately, based on your yard size.

According to Iowa State University Extension, spreading a thin layer of compost, about ¼ inch, along with core aeration is one of the best ways to apply it.
